The Jump Ethique association aims to raise awareness of equine welfare, especially in the competition environment. Today this major subject questions our practices and our relationship with the horse. It is our duty not to ignore the results of research in equine ethology and to evolve in the light of this new knowledge. Let us refocus the debate on the fundamentals of animal welfare.

10am-12pm: Round table: The effects of physical preparation on the rider's balance and injury prevention

10am-12pm: Round table: The effects of physical preparation on the rider's balance and injury prevention

Physical preparation is an essential phase of sports training. However, in riding, this phase is neglected by riders. More than in other sporting activities, considering inter-individual differences is essential for training planning and performance. 2 hours of specific physical preparation per week would considerably reduce pain and improve balance maintenance.

2pm-3pm: How do horses learn and understand riding?

Understanding the horse makes it possible to interpret its behaviour. During this conference, the main stages of a horse's learning abilities will be explained, to have a better understanding and relationship with your companion. Many problems are caused by a misinterpretation of the situation which results in the wrong reaction on the part of the rider.

5pm-6pm: No more reactivities and stable vices!

I invite you to think of another way of talking about horses and to find practical keys based on scientific knowledge in ethology and practice, to improve the well-being of horses. The anthropomorphic angle is intentionally adopted, without ignoring science.

Rather than seeing stable defects, let's try to improve the living environment of our horses. Instead of qualifying them as restive, let's consider these behaviours that cause us problems, such as health concerns or learning to deconstruct.

During this session we will talk about the most common emergencies in our horses and teach you how to manage them in a good way while waiting for the veterinarian.

The sale of horses is the subject of much litigation before the Courts. The lack of formalism and legal developments are making the matter more complex.

How to anticipate the risks?
