The Dressage Battle

The Dressage Battle at Jumping International de Bordeaux is a unique show featuring six top-level French riders.

An emotional evening  

The competition takes place over three rounds, each with its own theme. In the first round, riders perform trotting figures. In the second round, they canter. In the third round, they perform Grand Prix figures, the most difficult in the discipline.  

For each round, the jury awards points to the riders according to the technicality, fluidity and harmony of their movements. 

The public's opinion counts   

The Dressage Battle at Jumping International de Bordeaux is a unique competition, both sporting and spectacular. It challenges the traditional codes of dressage, combining compulsory figures, music and atmosphere. This unique competition, held only in Bordeaux, is a must for dressage and show enthusiasts alike.  

The audience plays an important role in the Dressage Battle at Jumping International de Bordeaux. Indeed, the final score of each round accounts for 60% of the audience's score. This means that spectators can significantly influence the outcome of the competition by expressing their appreciation of the riders' performances. 

An international jury  

To decide between the teams, an international jury was selected. It is made up of Annick Dauban and Marietta Almasy, a 3-star dressage judge.  

A host known throughout France   

Chris Marques, a Franco-Portuguese dancer and choreographer, is a key figure in the French dance scene. He is known for his performances on Danse avec les stars, where he is one of the most popular judges, and for his salsa world championship titles. He will be the official presenter of this Battle. 

A spectacular competition  

The Dressage Battle at Jumping International de Bordeaux is a unique sporting and artistic competition. It brings together two teams of riders, who compete against each other on a dressage arena, to the sound of lively music. Riders must perform a series of compulsory figures, combining technical complexity with graceful movement. 

 

High-level competitors   

Marc Boblet   

Marc Boblet started riding at the age of 12. He first competed in show jumping, but discovered dressage during his military service with the Garde Républicaine. After working as an industrial designer, he finally decided to become a professional rider.  

Stéphanie Brieussel   

Stéphanie Brieussel is an experienced and talented rider who has represented France with distinction at the highest level. She is an inspiration to young dressage riders.  

Mado Pinto  

Mado Pinto, daughter of international dressage riders, began competing at an early age. She has won several national and international titles, including a team silver medal at the European Children's Championships. She continues to progress on the young rider and amateur circuits. 

Pierre Volla   

Pierre Volla began riding at the age of 7. He started out competing on ponies, then progressed to dressage. He made his Grand Prix Dressage debut in 2013 with Zenith.   

Carlos Pinto  

International dressage rider Carlos Pinto is renowned for his expertise in training top-level horses. He is both a technician and an artist, and his pedagogy is much appreciated by his students.  

Léna Thouvenin   

A passionate dressage rider, Léna Thouvenin began riding at an early age. She has taken part in two World Championships for young horses and is French champion in the 5-year-old CC class. She advocates respect for animals and sharing her passion.
